Description: Want to be part of a small group of dedicated yoga instructors who wish to increase their functional anatomy knowledge and skills every month? First FYI-day was born of my desire to spread quality functional anatomy knowledge across the Houston area. I’m looking for a group of no more than 10 yoga instructors who would like to meet the first Friday of every month from 7-9 pm to discuss a specific topic related to functional anatomy as it pertains to yoga and especially yoga instruction.
The goal will be to create a circle of trust in which to gain, discuss, and apply functional anatomy knowledge to increase the quality of yoga instruction. The format will vary from month to month and all I ask in return is your feedback in the form of surveys to be filled out after each session. The event will be hosted in my home and I will provide tea and coffee.
As a fun addition, I have set aside a number of books to begin a book exchange as well. The only rule will be that you bring one book for each book you take. Any book is welcome, fiction or nonfiction. Since it will be a Friday night, suggestions for a social outing afterwards will also be encouraged.
Since there will be no cost to these events, I only ask for dedication and respect for everyone’s time and therefore the following rules apply:
- You must apply to register for the event (below) in order to attend. Admittance will be based on space availability and instructor discretion.
- Bring positive energy and constructive conversation to the workshops. Even though I will be guiding the conversation and selecting topics, your interaction, knowledge, experience, and good vibes are a vital part of the ongoing success of this program.
- If your plans change, please notify me 72 hours prior to the event. As a courtesy to those waiting to get into the workshop, advanced communication is key.
- If you do not notify me before the 72 hour timeframe, you will not be able to register for the following month. All ongoing participants will have a spot at the next month’s workshop. If you lose your spot, you may end up lower on the waiting list.
